As December kicks off and the holiday season gets into full swing, we at NetSuite.org(opens in new tab) wanted to take a moment to reflect on how thankful we are for our fantastic employees around the world. The NetSuite family had grown a lot this year, adding hundreds of new employees. As our employee population grows, so does the impact those employees have on our business, each other, and our corporate citizenship.
We strive to be responsible corporate citizens, globally and locally, and much of our success can be attributed to our caring employees. November was a great reminder of how passionate and spontaneous NetSuiters can be, as members of our Denver, San Mateo and Toronto offices competitively grew moustaches for charity.
While the biggest and most exciting outcome of the event was the charity donations raised by our employees, it was awesome to see the camaraderie and friendly competition – who knew growing a moustache could be so fun? The Movember(opens in new tab) movement is a great reminder of the value derived from employee engagement activities. By coming together around a cause, the bonds employees have with their company and their peers are strengthened while they also give back to charity; it’s really a win-win.
So from the NetSuite.org team to all of those employees who grew moustaches, donated to charities, or cheered on their fellow employees, thank you!
Together, we had nearly 60 whisker growers who generated over $23,000 for charity! Toronto and San Mateo participated in the traditional Movember activity for men’s health issues, raising funds and awareness for testicular and prostate cancer.
The Denver office decided to use their mustaches to raise funds for the local BeanStalk Foundation, the world's first high-touch crowd-funding platform for community leaders and their charitable projects and the Brunch with a Purpose(opens in new tab) program, a local event providing holiday gifts and winter clothes to foster children in the Denver area.
80% of the office got involved, donating funds, growing a mustache or shopping, wrapping and delivering gifts to the brunch taking place on December 9. We’re thankful for all of the amazing support and energy the Denver office put into this event, and are especially grateful to the following NetSuite customers who also got involved in helping us make the holiday season brighter for Denver’s foster children.
