Because companies that use certified professionals see more effective deployments and a greater return on their investment, customers are demanding that certified NetSuite ERP Consultants implement and optimize their use of NetSuite.

If you are a NetSuite Consultant, consider taking these three steps to become a Certified NetSuite ERP Consultant(opens in new tab).

Step 1: Prepare

If you are just starting out your career as a NetSuite Consultant, take the NetSuite Consultant Bootcamp(opens in new tab) training right away.

This three-week training program provides the core knowledge required to be a proficient NetSuite Consultant. Through hands-on exercises, self-study and a case study built around a real-life implementation example, you learn to match NetSuite solutions to business requirements and how to apply that knowledge while configuring a sample production account.

During the first two weeks of training, you gain an understanding of core NetSuite ERP features and standard processes, financial reporting and analytics, workflow automation, and customization and integration capabilities. During the third week, you apply that knowledge by completing a case study exercise simulating the tasks and activities of a NetSuite implementation.

Finishing this intensive training accelerates your learning as you complete the content of multiple SuiteTraining courses in only three weeks. To learn more or register for a class, check out our course schedule(opens in new tab).

Step 2: Apply

Next, relate what you learned in Bootcamp to customer projects. Before you can become certified, you should complete 5–10 medium or 2–3 enterprise NetSuite ERP implementations to gain the experience you need. This is roughly equivalent to 2 years of NetSuite implementation experience. At this point, you should be able to:

  • Match NetSuite ERP solutions to business requirements.
  • Advise customers on how to change standard ERP workflows.
  • Identify when to use scripting tools to meet the business needs.
  • Know when to extend use through integrations.
  • Explain the implications and benefits of NetSuite configuration options.

Step 3: Reinforce

Once you have the necessary experience, participate in the ERP Consultant Study Session(opens in new tab) to brush up your knowledge before taking the certification exams.

In this intensive two-day study session, you will work with a NetSuite expert who will guide the class by reviewing key subject areas and use cases. The first day focuses on ERP capabilities such as accounting and financial management. The second day concentrates on platform capabilities such as reporting, searching, customization and process automation. By the end of the session, you will know if you are ready take the exams or if you need more study to further prepare.

If you think you’re ready, go to the course schedule(opens in new tab) to register for a study session now!
