Developers and project managers hoping to use their NetSuite skills in the service of good, will once again have a unique opportunity to do just that at this year’s SuiteWorld. Our NetSuite.org Hackathon 4Good is taking place on Monday, May 4 and you’ll have a chance to code a NetSuite-based solution for one of our two charity partners – Good360(opens in new tab) and Found Animals Foundation(opens in new tab)!
If you’ve never participated in a Hackathon before, here’s an overview of how this event will run. On Monday, May 4 (the pre-conference day) we’ll gather a group of incredible employees, technology partners and NetSuite customers to hear about the challenges that these two NetSuite.org nonprofits are facing. Each of these challenges can be solved using ingenuity, creativity and the NetSuite platform.
Take a look at this blog about last year’s Hackathon to get a better sense of the event!

Each charity partner will give short presentation about their challenge and volunteers will then break up into groups based on the challenge they want to work on. As the brainstorming begins, smaller groups will break off to work on identified solutions – typically each group will have about four members. It’s okay for you to come to the event with a group of friends and work together – or you can come by your own and form a team at the event.
Each team will spend the next 9 hours brainstorming, coding and building a prototype of their solution. The charity partners will be on hand to help you and answer questions as you go.
Nine hours later, we’ll gather together and each group will present their solution. Our panel of judges, including NetSuite Founder and Chief Technology Officer Evan Goldberg will score each presentation. At the end, judges will select two winners – one for Good360 and one for Found Animals Foundation.
