Data visualization software provider Qlik detailed its deployment of NetSuite at the annual SuiteWorld conference and exhibition this week.
Qlik has replaced Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) with NetSuite OneWorld, a cloud-based business management software designed to serve the complex multinational needs of midmarket organizations with business functionality to adjust for currency, taxation and legal compliance differences.
Business intelligence user experience
Lars Björk, CEO of Qlik, explained that the company’s business started with a vision to provide analytics for business intelligence with color coding that would focus on end users and the user experience.
“Our technology was built to be in-memory before there were no constraints” Björk said. “But it turns out that we bet on the right horse. Today we do not sell technology, we sell business value.”
Qlik has since grown to provide embedded and custom analytics to approximately 35,000 customers.
Prior to selecting NetSuite, Qlik used disparate systems and manual processes passing quotes between its Salesforce.com CRM system and Microsoft Dynamics NAV. After evaluating on-premise ERP systems, Qlik chose NetSuite because the firm was convinced that it could deliver the combination of cloud-based financials it needed.
NetSuite's underlying SuiteCloud platform provided Qlik with the ability to integrate quotes entered into its Salesforce CRM system by global sales reps and partners directly into NetSuite, automating the quote-to-cash process.
Björk insists that if the company had not moved to NetSuite, it would still have a hoard of people in a back room working on processing pieces of paper.

“When it comes to software, if it isn't simple to use, it simply won't be used,” Björk said. “NetSuite has significantly simplified and automated our processes internationally.”
With NetSuite OneWorld, Qlik is able to manage its mission-critical business processes around the world, including global financial consolidation, sales quoting, invoicing, fixed assets and contract renewals for over 25 subsidiaries across more than 100 countries.
Deeper integration & partnership
Additionally, the companies have announced a partnership under which Qlik will join the NetSuite SuiteCloud Developer Network and NetSuite and Qlik will work together to develop an integrated solution combining the Qlik visual analytics platform with NetSuite on top of the SuiteCloud development platform.
This move is intended to help business users to visually analyze NetSuite's core data intelligence and create their own dashboards and data visualizations to make more informed business decisions.
