Supporting High-Growth Industries

The HydraFacial Co. operates in a high-growth industry where consumer preferences and expectations change constantly. The company provides a platform and technology to deliver an experiential, 30-minute facial that produces results similar to those of a medical treatment. Founded in 1997, the company’s primary product is the HydraFacial system, which uses a three-step process of cleansing, extracting impurities and hydrating the skin.

In 2020, HydraFacial realized that its current business system no longer supported its 40% to 50% compound annual growth rate. The company was also about to change hands between two private equity firms, with one condition of the sale being that it implement a single, unified ERP to run its growing, global enterprise.

After reviewing NetSuite, Oracle Cloud ERP and SAP, HydraFacial selected NetSuite to run that enterprise and named Trevera as its implementation partner.

HydraFacial has been live on NetSuite since November 2021. Besides posting its highest revenues of the year that month, it effortlessly managed a Cyber Monday sales spike of 11% thanks to its new SuiteCommerce platform.

AstroNova (formerly Astro-Med) applies its data visualization technology to create products that deliver accuracy, efficiency and performance across a broad range of end-user markets. The company’s products include AstroNova Test & Measurement data acquisition systems; AstroNova Aerospace flight deck and cabin electronics; and AstroNova Product Identification, which includes QuickLabel brand tabletop label printers and consumables and TrojanLabel brand industrial label presses and specialty printers.

Before becoming the first and largest aerospace and defense manufacturer to implement NetSuite, AstroNova was operating its business on a legacy installation of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne alongside many disconnected and homegrown applications. These non-integrated, stove-piped technologies required staff to expend significant manual effort to keep track of four independent business units, deliver end-to-end reporting for decision-making and close each accounting period accurately and on time.

AstroNova also wanted to improve its supply chain management and operational performance using new advanced manufacturing capabilities and use a tablet interface to capture both time and materials usage.

Consulting partner PCG implemented NetSuite; enabled Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Advanced Bill of Materials and Advanced Manufacturing; and integrated numerous specialized applications, including RF-SMART for data collection, Verenia for configurator capabilities, Epiphany for field service repair, and mobile tablet-based options for the capture and integration of time and materials information into the ERP.

This unified platform enables AstroNova to minimize manual work and empower leaders with real-time insights.

Leveraging the Power of E-Commerce

Bronner's CHRISTmas Wonderland started from humble beginnings. In 1954, Wally Bronner opened his first physical store, followed by two more locations in 1966 and 1971. Several expansions later, the company became the “World's Largest Christmas Store.”

Up until 2019, Bronner’s various divisions were running on legacy software solutions. As a result, the company’s financial data was disconnected from its e-commerce, point of sale, warehouse and online data. Wanting a complete view of its physical and digital operations and improved sales tax management, the company went in search of a centralized ERP.

Working with BTM Global, Bronner’s implemented NetSuite plus various customizations needed to meet its specific business needs. Now, instead of manually posting inventory on a daily basis into the accounting system, Bronner’s lets NetSuite handle that heavy lifting. Besides cutting down on the time spent on manual updates, NetSuite links Bronner’s accounting system into the rest of its operations. The retailer recently rolled out SuiteCommerce, which it will soon use for both its commercial and wholesale sites.

A leading cylinder manufacturer in Europe, Magister Hydraulics has distribution centers in New Jersey and Texas to serve the North American market. The company was established in 1998 and has since achieved consistent growth thanks to product reliability and its commitment to customer satisfaction.

Magister Hydraulics specializes in manufacturing hydraulic cylinders for various types of equipment with piston diameters up to eight inches. To manage its growing web business, the company was using multiple online web stores but had no way of looking at all its orders in one place.

Beyond Cloud designed a fulfillment framework to optimize shipping patterns, correlating inventory against customer location, and automated the company’s invoice and collection processes.

Strong Building Blocks for Future Growth

After being spun out as a separate company, Syntellis Performance Solutions required a rapid NetSuite ERP, NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management and Salesforce CRM/CPQ implementation to prepare it to operate and scale as an independent entity.

To enable Syntellis’ success as a supplier of innovative enterprise performance management software, data and analytics solutions for healthcare, higher education and financial institutions, PwC set out to complete the implementation in less than six months from kickoff to go-live. The project required the replacement of Syntellis’ entire Quote to Cash architecture, and PwC had to overcome multiple complexities. For example, the new company comprised two unique businesses with non-standard processes that had to be combined during the implementation, and a SKU structure redesign was underway during the project.

Despite a wide-ranging technology footprint, challenging process alignment scope, a complex revenue recognition treatment and unique subscription billing requirements, the program went live on time in five and a half months. With the go-live, Syntellis gained a highly scalable Quote to Cash architecture built on NetSuite.

Screen Engine/ASI is a resource for marketing research and information with an emphasis on the entertainment industry. The company helps its clients better assess and manage opportunity and risk across the four screens of media: theatrical movies, television, computer and mobile. Over time, Screen Engine/ASI has grown from a startup focused on film into an international research and data analytics company for the entertainment industry.

With offices in Los Angeles, San Diego and London, the growing company needed a unified ERP plus an integrated project management platform. Working with Top Step, Screen Engine/ASI implemented NetSuite, OpenAir, ADP integration through Modulus and a Concur integration. It uses NetSuite for all finance and accounting activities, OpenAir for project management and OneWorld for global business management.

Since going live on NetSuite in late 2021, the company has acquired a new organization that’s now migrating to OpenAir. Key benefits that Screen Engine/ASI has gained since implementing NetSuite and OpenAir include simpler integration of payroll and expense reporting via integrations with ADP and Concur, the automation of many manual processes and smooth project approval workflows.

A family-run lifestyle and apparel brand fueled by purpose and optimism, Faherty Brand has 36 US retail store locations and is adding 20 more stores in 2022. All 50+ stores will be managed on NetSuite, which beat out both BlueCherry and Microsoft Dynamics during the ERP selection process.

The company has Shopify for e-commerce, NewStore for point of sale, Happy Returns for reverse logistics, the NuORDER marketplace and various other applications integrated directly with NetSuite. Put in place by Yantra, this integrated mesh of systems is helping Faherty Brand grow and rapidly onboard new stores.

Today, Faherty Brand is using NetSuite’s advanced inventory, supply allocation, sales orders, fulfillment, purchasing, inbound shipments and payables via a Tipalti integration, among other functionalities. Yantra also created custom extensions for item allocation at the style level, managing bulk orders and inventory commitment and providing real-time updates of shipped/remaining quantities for bulk orders.
