As dedicated practitioners of yoga already know, a strong and stable core makes a big difference. Without it, every yoga pose is in danger of falling apart from the inside out. While power and strength come from within, the external foundation to support the practice is the yoga mat. The mat is to yogis what racing shoes are to elite runners. And the gold-standard, without debate, is Manduka (opens in new tab).
In 1997, Peter Sterios founded Manduka when he set out to design the “Ferrari of yoga mats.” Sterios shared the product with his teachers, his teachers shared it with their students, and soon, Manduka became the leading brand in the market. Devoutly committed to its customers and to the environment, Manduka constantly seeks innovative partners and updated technologies. The result? Sustainably-sourced, high performance products that are unmatched in the marketplace and unique in a class of their own. Carefully selected materials are paired with thoughtful design to achieve a soulful balance of quality and performance with the tiniest environmental footprint possible. Designed to last a lifetime, the Manduka PRO line comes with a lifetime warranty and a loyal customer base. The company continues to innovate and expand its products, offering newly designed state-of-the-art mats, accessories and apparel to yogis everywhere.
This growth was not without challenges. The entry-level business systems the company previously used could not scale with the business, and the manual processes Manduka had to rely on instead cut into operational performance. Manduka turned to NetSuite and SPS Commerce for a strong, foundational core system that could scale with the business and unlock its long-term innovation and growth potential.
Since moving to NetSuite, Manduka has expanded its wholesale channel across thousands of yoga studios and retail locations in the U.S., including REI, Nordstrom and Dick's Sporting Goods, with a distribution business that spans 75 countries, as well as a direct-to-consumer website. NetSuite has also proved valuable in the release of new products, such as the Yogitoes product-line, providing a streamlined financials environment that readily accommodates the offerings, while the EDI solution from NetSuite partner SPS Commerce streamlines transactions with large retailers. And, by moving to a paperless order management and demand planning system, Manduka eliminated hundreds of spreadsheets and gained real-time visibility and operational efficiencies not available with their previous systems. As an added benefit, by eliminating tons of paper each year, NetSuite has enabled Manduka to further its practice of sustainability and minimize environmental waste.
“What is good for the practice is good for the planet” and we are honored to be a part of Manduka’s continued success. Together, NetSuite and SPS Commerce provides a modern, agile cloud-based system that has allowed Manduka to continue to evolve, introduce new products and celebrate enduring, lifelong relationships with yogi’s around the world.
Representatives from Manduka will share their experience in a webinar on September 20th at 9:00 a.m. PT. Join us to learn more about Manduka and how the company utilizes NetSuite/SPS Commerce to drive growth, manage customer expectations and adapt in the digital retail era.
