Talk about a disconnect. Online retail sales in Australia are expected to surge to $25 billion by 2015, up 39% from 2013(opens in new tab), according to the research consultancy Frost & Sullivan. And yet just one-third of the 77,000 retailers in Australia accept orders online.
The implications are clear. Australian retailers that don’t get online, and fast, are sacrificing a huge opportunity to grow revenue among a new breed of shoppers who value and reward a consistent, relevant experience across all channels—online, in-store, mobile, call centre and social.
A similar disconnect exists in wholesale distribution, manufacturing and other B2B markets as business buyers increasingly expect the convenience of anytime, anywhere purchasing. In both B2C and B2B markets, the gap is widening between laggards and leading companies that are taking advantage of omnichannel cloud commerce solutions to drive revenue not just domestically, but across international borders.
Global omnichannel commerce in the cloud is the topic of two executive events hosted by NetSuite CEO Zach Nelson in Australia this month, on Tuesday, 29 October in Sydney, and Thursday, 31 October in Melbourne. To learn more about the events and register, please click here(opens in new tab).
Mr Nelson will explore how leading companies are using cloud technology to manage global expansion and achieve omnichannel commerce across business models, regions and channels, such as online, mobile, social and more. He will be joined on stage by executives of logistics services provider Toll, sustainable packaging pioneer BioPak(opens in new tab) and travel publisher Lonely Planet(opens in new tab), who will share how they have transformed operations and achieved business objectives with NetSuite’s cloud solutions.
In addition, Frost & Sullivan will unveil new research on the adoption of omnichannel commerce strategies across a host of different industries, including retail, Ecommerce, manufacturing, wholesale distribution and others. Australian Retailers Association (ARA) will also participate in this event as a major sponsor.
As participants will outline, omnichannel commerce success extends beyond customer-facing systems. Leading companies have dramatically improved business speed and agility through NetSuite’s integrated solution covering omnichannel commerce, inventory and order management, financials, customer support and more. In addition, multinational companies with global business requirements utilize NetSuite OneWorld’s(opens in new tab) multi-currency, multi-lingual, and multi-subsidiary capabilities for efficient and scalable business execution across borders.
These informative events provide a great opportunity to explore how real-world companies are opening new worlds of business opportunity. As B2C and B2B Ecommerce reaches new heights in Australia and beyond, the time is now for Australian merchants to look to the cloud.
