Mons Royale (opens in new tab) is a New Zealand-based outdoor clothing company, designing performance-driven yet stylish undergarments for adventurers all over the world—because, as the company believes, there’s no need to compromise either one. Mons wants its customers to stroll from the streets to the slopes, the mountains to happy hour and everywhere life takes them in between.
However, in starting the company in 2009, the founders of Mons Royale were faced with lots of challenges: an oversaturated retail industry, the balance between e-commerce (opens in new tab) and brick-and-mortar and the task of creating a brand that stands out among all of it.
We sat down with Mons Royale Chief Operating Officer, Ben Irving, to find out how the company overcame these obstacles and grew into a worldwide brand, making waves in outerwear while helping customers catch waves, powder and more.
