Roddy McKaig, Shaw’s CIO and VP, with NetSuite CEO Zach Nelson at SuiteWorld 2014
Allen Stephens, IS Strategic Planning Group manager for Shaw Industries Group, believes SuiteWorld is a more genuine and personal experience than most industry gatherings by far.
Shaw Industries Group, Inc.is the world’s largest carpet manufacturer and a leading floorcovering provider. The firm has rolled out NetSuite OneWorld as its cloud-driven ERP solution for global businesses.
Stephens noted how several NetSuite executives and senior managers made an effort to come and meet him personally at SuiteWorld 2014. He said that they shook his hand and spent some serious time talking about his firm’s strategic plans.
“Remembering exactly who I was and calling me by name made me feel special,” he said. “The Shaw team was also asked to meet with a couple of prospective NetSuite customers as references – and I subsequently received very nice hand written thank you notes from the NetSuite sales and reference teams. It was an impressive touch.”
As a whole, the Shaw Industries team has commended NetSuite for using the exhibition and conference as a platform to present and clarify its road map and upcoming releases/features. The Shaw Industries team agrees that the “enormity and energy level” of SuiteWorld are amazing.
Stephens himself was invited to speak at a breakout session which he describes as a great opportunity to share real life best/worst/first practices with NetSuite customers.
“SuiteWorld provides excellent networking opportunities. The entire NetSuite team is very engaged, available and approachable,” he said. “SuiteWorld is a great opportunity to network with the NetSuite teams and an amazing variety of customers. I highly recommend attending.”
SuiteWorld presents a unique opportunity for Shaw Industries to augment and validate its technical competencies with the NetSuite and capitalize on what it calls the “rich business functionality” within.
“NetSuite’s strong financials allow us to easily roll up transactions for several subsidiaries, speeding up our month end closing processes,” Stephens said.
Shaw Industries integrates its on-premise central ERP system at headquarters with NetSuite’s totally SaaS-based solution in a two-tier ERP implementation so that its in-house software procedures can still run effectively and manage areas such as supply chain, order entry processing, manufacturing and shop floor control demands.
