Mike Quick(opens in new tab) played nine seasons in the NFL as a wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles. He won out against the toughest competition in the sport, leading the league in receiving yards in 1983 and becoming an Eagles Hall of Famer and five-time Pro Bowler.
Business leaders facing challenges can learn from Quick’s advice on resilience, which he credits for his success.
At the most fundamental level, Quick believes that overcoming challenges depends on keeping a positive outlook and not giving up. When asked how to hold strong during games--or business meetings, for that matter--where “everything is going wrong,” Quick’s advice was simple.
“If the game isn’t over, you still have a chance,” he said.
