Supporting fantastic talent and providing a fantastic customer experience are both core to NetSuite. That’s why we prioritize the development of world-class consulting professionals to work with our wide range of customers.
Last year, NetSuite Customer Success launched its first internship program, in Canada. After completing the internship, student Simone Ianniello received the “Co-Op Student of the Year” award from his school, the University of Guelph, this month. The award recognizes students who excel in their internships as well as academics and on-campus activities.
In reflecting on his experience, Ianniello said that, like NetSuite, other companies should engage students to contribute as interns.
“Young and ambitious individuals are eager to go above and beyond to help you achieve your business goals,” he said. “As interns, we want to show you our worth, but this only happens when we’re given real opportunities to do so.”

Inside the NetSuite Customer Success Internship Program
During his second internship as a Learning Advisor Consultant intern with the NetSuite Education Services team, Ianniello completed hands-on NetSuite product training and gained consulting experience. Each intern managed a diverse portfolio of five customers, advising them on their NetSuite training plans to get them up to speed with the system. All interns enjoyed opportunities to network with colleagues and NetSuite leaders, from panel discussions about NetSuite’s diversity and inclusion initiatives and employee resource groups (ERGs) to fireside chats with executives about company strategy.
Ianniello recommended a Campus Ambassador Program to NetSuite leaders, equipping the team to promote internship and new-grad career opportunities on campus through events and social media.
The University of Guelph recognized NetSuite as a nominee for the “Guelph Co-Op Employer of the Year,” awarded to employers that offer outstanding experiential learning opportunities to its students.
Interns Changing the Game for NetSuite Customers
Ianniello’s award represents a strong debut for NetSuite’s Customer Success internship program, said Reg Singh, NetSuite’s VP of Education Services & Customer Success.
“We’re excited to celebrate Simone’s success and look forward to engaging future interns to bring innovative ideas and energy to serve our customers,” Singh said.
The award also represents a win for current and future NetSuite customers, who will benefit from the company’s increasingly diverse base of breakout talent.
“A key aspect of our customer success strategy is to develop talent pipelines that attract diverse, emerging talent around the globe,” said Heather Miller, group VP of Global Customer Success. “We surround talent with onboarding programs that foster career growth — and by providing interns with hands-on learning opportunities, we’re engaging future employees like Simone to grow with us.”
