Amid the bright lights and bustling casinos of Las Vegas, developers, customers, partners and NetSuite Global Business Unit employees will come together to use their professional skills for good at the Hackathon 4Good at SuiteWorld.
Set for Monday, April 24, the first day of SuiteWorld, NetSuite’s customer conference, close to 100 participants will spend the day developing innovative prototypes to address the challenges posed by a NetSuite nonprofit customer.
For this year’s Hackathon 4Good, the featured nonprofit customer is Brightpoint Health, a leading nonprofit provider of integrated health care and social support services to New Yorkers, especially those challenged by poverty, discrimination and lack of access to health care. With close to 800 employees and locations throughout the five boroughs, Brightpoint serves 40,000 people annually with high-quality health care.
Brightpoint turned to NetSuite to help streamline its back-office operations, including processing patient transactions, managing the organization’s funding, and closing the books. With NetSuite, Brightpoint is able to close the books faster and has data to help them make informed business decisions.
To kick off the hackathon, Brightpoint will present participants with two exciting challenges. Following presentations, participants will break into teams of 4 to 5 and spend the next 9 hours brainstorming and developing their prototype. New for this year’s hackathon is a partnership with NetSuite’s DEVLAND, where members of the NetSuite Product team will be on hand to help and support teams with the creation of their solutions and prototypes.
At the end of a day, teams get the opportunity to present their idea to a panel of judges. Winning teams receive prizes and bragging rights! This year’s event is completely full, and we’re looking forward to seeing the creative prototypes that participants come up with.
