NetSuite.org(opens in new tab)’s SuiteImpact initiative has taken off, gaining participants from every NetSuite office from all over the world. For Global Impact Week alone, more than 870 people volunteered their time to do good in their local communities. Here, we are taking the time to get to know one of our SuiteImpact Ambassadors, Saranya Kaewsaard.

What is your position at NetSuite?

I’m a team lead QA.

What made you decide to become an ambassador?

My decision was inspired by my mom – who always did charity work and helped people. For me, being an ambassador goes beyond helping and leading people to participate in activities, it also means spreading love.

What has been your favorite part of the experience?

My favorite part of the experience was at ‘Lorenzo’s house’, a home for children who are living with HIV. After an all day activity there, before we left the children sang a very nice song for us and played guitar. They were smiling, which made me feel happy.

What has been your favorite event to plan/ participate in? Why?

My favorite event to plan has been… all of them! I have loved researching new activities and getting ideas and support from my colleagues. SuiteImpact activities bring people together to do good and build teamwork, outside of the stress of work.

How did you balance your work responsibilities with the responsibilities of being an ambassador?

Most of the time, I can manage to get everything done during work hours. Sometimes, I’ll come in early in the morning and start my day by listing all the things that I have to accomplish throughout the day. I might use about 30 minutes to an hour to catch up with my team if I need to spend more time planning an activity and always let my manager know if I think I might need to spend more time on an ambassador task.

How do you feel about NetSuite’s commitment to giving back by giving employees paid time off to volunteer?

I really appreciate that NetSuite cares and support employees to give of themselves.

What’s your favorite thing to do outside of work?

I have few favorite things to do, including working out at the gym, taking photos and being part of an Agile community.

What’s your favorite meal?

Thai food, of course! I like Papaya salad with grilled chicken.

Coffee or tea?

Coffee. But if I had to choose my absolute favorite drink, it would be fruit juice.
