We’re excited to announce that NetSuite has partnered with the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) to help CFOs, controllers and finance executives take advantage of the industry’s rapid movement to cloud accounting software solutions.

By combining our leadership in cloud computing with IMA’s decades of experience in meeting the needs of finance professionals, we’re hoping to help IMA members identify gaps in their finance organizations, target growth opportunities and understand how cloud computing enables powerful process changes. In many ways, the coming together of these two leading organizations marks the maturation of cloud computing as the preferred way forward for business accounting software. It underscores the corporate finance community’s need for more information on how they can take advantage of the cloud financials trend. With a network of more than 60,000 professionals worldwide, IMA is the leading forum for accounting and finance professionals to advance their careers, while NetSuite is the world’s leading cloud ERP system with over 6,600 customers.

Over the past decade, cloud computing—also referred to as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), web-based software, on-demand software and online software—has been changing the way finance departments manage their accounting operations. It’s also been contributing to the ongoing transformation of the traditional finance executive’s role from functional player to strategic leader of the business.

Cloud computing has been touted as one of the most promising technologies in decades, and almost all analyst reports show adoption rates of cloud financials dramatically outpacing their on-premise brethren. However, confusion over the definition of cloud computing lingers, as do questions about how it can help financial organizations address their challenges, how to evaluate whether the technology is right for their firm, and different adoption strategies.

One of the major factors driving our relationship with IMA was financial leaders’ increasing demand for answers to questions about cloud computing. In conjunction with IMA, we’ve started answering these questions in a variety of different forums, including live seminars, webinars and white papers, and we’ll continue working together to educate the IMA membership on how they can take advantage of the cloud computing trend.

To get answers to your own questions about cloud computing, watch the webinar we hosted with IMA in September, “Financial Executive Panel: What the Cloud Means to The Finance Organization.”
