Opportunity Isn’t Just Knocking... It’s Breaking Down the Door
As we enter the mid-point of the hectic Q4 cycle and look to close 2013 with a bang, opportunities for NetSuite Solution Provider partners aren’t just knocking—they’re practically breaking down the door.
Looking back over recent developments, I’m hard-pressed to recall as many positive dynamics converging at the same time that open new doors for partners to pursue and close deals, both in terms of weakening competition from SAP, Sage and others, and enhancements to the NetSuite value proposition. Consider:
SAP Business ByDesign Sunset Migration. NetSuite’s new program offers an easy, migration path for Business ByDesign users fed up with SAP’s repeated re-architecting, re-positioning and decision not to significantly invest in its purported cloud ERP offering, which never lived up to lofty goals of 10,000 customers and $1 billion in revenue.
NetSuite acquires TribeHR. Our acquisition of TribeHR, a NetSuite SuiteCloud Developer Network partner, creates a fully integrated ERP/HCM suite that addresses growing mid-market customer demand for extended HR capabilities in NetSuite, adding another strong data point to your sales pitch.
Sage users are poised to switch. A new independent survey of Sage users found that 74 percent of these users are likely to move to the cloud, and 44 percent don’t believe Sage has a strategy to get them into the cloud. While this study was based in the U.K., we see similar sentiment among Sage users around the world.
As these opportunities unfold, it’s no wonder that our Solution Provider community continues to grow in size and strength. For instance, the number of NetSuite partners on the VAR 100 list more than doubled between 2012 and 2013, from 11 to 23.
The NetSuite Accountant Program recently passed the 1,000-member threshold, while year-over-year sales through our channel partners shot up 70% in Q2.
Meanwhile, the partner community continues to attract top-tier VAR’s, with the continued addition of new solution providers, many of which are adding their first cloud ERP, CRM and ecommerce offering to existing Microsoft, SAP and Sage portfolios. These developments reinforce that NetSuite is the premier ecosystem for solution providers seeking to capitalize on the global shift towards cloud applications.
Tip of the Hat to Top Partners
Some thanks and kudos are in order. First, thanks to those Solution Providers that contributed to the new NetSuite ERP Consultant Certification program. This important new initiative incorporates valuable feedback from beta partners Accenture, Aminian Business Services, Deloitte, Demand Solutions Group, ERP Guru, Explore Consulting, First Hosted, TrueCloud, McGladrey, Ncompass Business Solutions, NetSoft, NXTurn, Sixred and The New Office.
And congrats to our 2013 Partner Club winners. It was great to relax in Cabo San Lucas in early October and toast the success of our top 2012 sales producers, CloudTech, ERP Guru, Explore Consulting, Demand Systems Group, First Hosted, McGladrey and Sererra.
Best wishes for a busy and successful Q4 and year-end close. I hope everyone finds time and enjoys well-deserved holiday breaks later this month, and come December. Given the tremendous momentum we continue to see in the channel, those doors are going to continue to open even more once Q1 arrives.
As always, we welcome your feedback, suggestions and questions at solutionproviders@netsuite.com.
Best regards,
Craig West

A Glimmer of Hope and The New Office
At NetSuite.org, the corporate citizenship arm of NetSuite, we are always on the look-out for strong solutions providers and partners who can work with us to further our mission of putting NetSuite software into the hands of nonprofits and social enterprises around the world, so that they can focus more time and effort on their mission.
The New Office is one of these partners. A NetSuite implementation and integration service provider, The New Office looks at their partnership with NetSuite.org as a means for their employees to give back to the community. From CRM, ERP and ecommerce, to connecting old systems with new, The New Office’s NetSuite consultants and developers help organizations both big and small.
Dean Dzurilla, The New Office’s Founder and CEO, met with the NetSuite.org Team to talk about their successful relationship with nonprofit grantee A Glimmer of Hope.
"NetSuite is a great piece of technology. Often though, many of the nonprofits we serve don’t have the means or capacity to fully realize [NetSuite’s] potential. We try to fill those gaps," said Dzurilla.
A Glimmer of Hope, founded by Donna Berber and her husband Philip Berber, developed a nonprofit model to bring deep, sustainable change in the lives of impoverished Ethiopian women and children. In order to expand their impact in rural Ethiopia, Glimmer turned to NetSuite in 2009 to replace their multiple, disparate software applications.
Dzurilla quickly became friends with the Glimmer staff, including its Chief Financial Officer, Stephanie Fast and Chief Executive Officer, Brian Cooper. His firm helped them implement their NetSuite software donation. Since then, The New Office has built a long successful partnership with A Glimmer of Hope.
"We fully support the Glimmer cause," said Dzurilla, "Not only through assisting them with their NetSuite’s needs but also donating to their relief projects around the world."
Glimmer meets and speaks with each village to learn about their people and their community. They then prioritize water, health, education and microfinance projects to meet the village’s unique needs. Once these projects are defined, Glimmer reaches out to donors who want to help. During the construction process, Glimmer sends donors media updates on the village’s progress.
The New Office configured A Glimmer of Hope’s financial system to properly allocate donor funds and track the performance of each project. Since then, The New Office has added deep customizations to Glimmer’s SaaS application and recently implemented NetSuite’s CRM functionality to better support their constituent management team.
To date, A Glimmer of Hope has constructed more than 6,700 water projects, 520 school buildings and 210 health facilities. They have also distributed more than 19,000 microfinance loans for small businesses and irrigation projects. Overall, Glimmer has improved the lives of 2.5 million Ethiopian citizens.
Dzurilla’s friendship with Fast and the Glimmer team has been a huge key to their success. They actively keep in touch and capture every opportunity to improve their use of NetSuite as they grow.
For nonprofits with similar missions to Glimmer, Dzurilla urges to not tackle all their software issues at a single time. In his experience helping NetSuite.org grantees, implementing NetSuite in bite-sized chunks has led to greater adoption rates and overall effectiveness.
"NetSuite has a lot of horsepower by design," said Dzurilla, "Nonprofits should leverage the system’s built-in workflows to take advantage of efficiencies gained in running their business."
NetSuite.org grantees often come to NetSuite’s solution provider partners to help them refine their software donations and boost the work they do around the world. Choosing a partner you can trust and who believes in your mission is critical to maximizing the benefits of your NetSuite system.
