"Running on NetSuite, we look and feel like a $100 million company. We cover our international customer basis effectively with our global customer service and engineering footprint."
A leading manufacturer and engineering services provider of electrical components and complex assemblies, iConn Technologies runs its accounting, sales, inventory management and manufacturing on NetSuite.
Going live on NetSuite in January 2009 has enabled iConn to effortlessly shift its business model from a simple product design startup to a worldwide player providing complex assembly and sub-assembly and design services to Fortune 500 organizations.
iConn has been able to maintain a lean workforce by continually increasing its use of NetSuite to automate and optimize business processes across the company. iConn, by its estimates, has grown 120% without needing to add more staff, in the process saving hundreds of thousands of dollars in overheads and an additional $30,000 to $50,000 yearly it would have spent on VPN connections.
With its own operations in the U.S., Australia, China and Germany and its customers and partners all over the globe, iConn uses NetSuite’s customized portals technology to enable instant information sharing and collaboration.
Having access to a single unified source of real-time accurate customer, product and partner information empowers iConn to work effectively across a network of six different suppliers with 19 manufacturing sites and 30 inventory locations.
With real-time visibility across the entire supply chain, iConn can provide a high level of service to its customers and partners, alerting them immediately to any product delivery dates as well as any changes in orders or other variables.
As a self-funded design/engineered manufacturing solution provider startup, iConn wanted to exploit opportunities for international growth. It was looking for a sophisticated, flexible and scalable solution to replace a mix of QuickBooks and Excel spreadsheets.
The company required a cost-effective unified business management solution which would include support for ERP, including multi-language accounting, and manufacturing.
iConn also needed remote system access for employees in the U.S., Australia, China and Europe as well as international customers and manufacturing partners.
iConn chose NetSuite over SAP Business One to gain 25% more functionality at a much more cost-effective price point. With prior experience of SAP Business One at another company, iConn executives estimated the company would need to triple its staff and spend $100,000 per year to support the SAP software.
After deploying NetSuite, iConn was able to implement ERP, CRM, customer and partner portals in less time than it had expected.
NetSuite executive dashboards give iConn managers real-time visibility into complex supply chains and sales pipelines and provide the basis for future planning.
iConn has taken advantage of NetSuite’s SuiteCloud partner ecosystem to complement its NetSuite deployment with product lifecycle management (PLM) from Arena Solutions.
Looking ahead, iConn is considering implementing NetSuite OneWorld to support transactions in multiple currencies and additional languages and tax compliance as the company continues to grow its business around the world.
