NetSuite customers will be able to get direct access to the intelligence from Dun & Bradstreet’s commercial database under a new partnership announced at SuiteWorld.

SuiteCloud: Inherent Flexibility

The flexibility of the NetSuite technology stack allowed NetSuite to open up new connection points to Dun & Bradstreet’s database through a SuiteApp, on the SuiteCloud Development platform.

Essentially, the alignment of these technologies is intended to help facilitate more accurate data-driven decision making across all commercial enterprise departments, from finance to sales and marketing.

Dun & Bradstreet's database contains in excess of 240 million commercial records, which have been derived from approximately 30,000 data sources around the world and is updated about five million times a day, according to the company.

Data as a Lifeblood

NetSuite's message to customers at SuiteWorld was that, if accurate and relevant data is the lifeblood of all global organizations in all business verticals, then the new commercial leaders will need intelligence to adapt to upcoming market and industry changes and disruptions.

NetSuite customers will be able to use Dun & Bradstreet data to discover, research and compare new global opportunities with relation to customers, partners or suppliers.

Additionally, the combined NetSuite and Dun & Bradstreet data could help firms manage risk and business continuity practices across their operations.

Native Integration, Bare Strength

"The Dun & Bradstreet and NetSuite alliance brings together two market leaders to transform mission-critical business decision making in the cloud," said Josh Peirez, Dun & Bradstreet's Chief Operating Officer, at time of announcement. "By natively integrating Dun & Bradstreet's data within NetSuite's cloud business management suite, we are removing the element of guesswork from corporate sourcing, planning and decisions to reduce risk and help drive growth."

NetSuite Founder & CTO Evan Goldberg called the agreement a game-changing alliance for customers since it provides the data and insights necessary to help transform and speed up their business processes and decision making and to increase overall efficiency.

In a world where data rules our lives and all businesses have to be technology businesses (from traditionally software-centric firms to typically non-digital companies and onward), the need to use trusted records as a foundation for digital business can arguably not be overstated.

The electronic business world just got more tightly-coupled, in a good way.
