NETSUITE ANNOUNCES 1000TH ECOMMERCE
CUSTOMER
Small and Midsize Businesses Use
NetSuite to Tie Web Operations to Internal Financial,
Warehouse, Sales and Support Systems
LONDON – 24 June 2004 – NetSuite, Inc.,
today announced significant growth into the ecommerce
market by singing up the 1000th ecommerce customer utilising
NetSuite to tie website/Web store operations seamlessly
with front- and back-office processes. By standardising
NetSuite's NetCommerce technology, these companies
can deliver an "Amazon.com-like" experience
for a fraction of the cost. Designed and built as part
of NetSuite, NetCommerce enables companies to easily
transact business on the Web while automatically linking
into internal customer relationship management, financial
and warehouse systems. The 1000 companies included business-to-business
and business-to-consumer websites across all industries
including retailers, e-tailers, wholesalers, distributors
and technology companies. Many of these customers'
websites and Web stores are featured in the NetSuite
Mall (www.netsuite.com/ukmall).
NetSuite's award-winning products include NetERP,
NetCRM, NetCommerce and Oracle® Small Business Suite.
The Oracle Small Business Suite name is used under license
from Oracle Corporation (NASDAQ: ORCL).
Turning a static Web site into an e-business destination
– where products and prices are dynamically updated;
inventory is tracked in real-time; each customer is
charged their own price level and displayed their own
content; orders are taken on a secure shopping cart
with fraud protection; multiple warehouses are instantly
notified for fulfilment; and customers can track their
orders and support tickets – has been a daunting
challenge for even the largest companies. It requires
tying together a Web site with separate on-site systems
for inventory, invoicing, shipping, customer service,
contact management and document publishing. An ecommerce
capable Web site can easily cost more than $100,000
to create.
NetSuite addresses these issues by providing an easy
to use, low cost solution that makes the technical challenges
of building an online Web store as easy as point and
click. From designing, hosting and managing the Web
site; to tracking customers the moment they enter the
site; to enabling online transactions whether via credit
card or purchase order; to automating back-office inventory
processes; to delivering unparalleled online customer
service such as 24/7 access to order history, package
tracking and multi-level support.
Here is what some of the NetSuite ecommerce customers
say about NetCommerce:
Davis Anderson Merchandising Corp, a West Hollywood,
Calif.-based producer of e-official merchandise sites
uses NetSuite to manage more than 5 sites, including
Punisher the Movie (www.marvelcollection.com)
as well as Lord of the Rings, Conan, Xena Warrior Princess,
and Highlander (www.legendaryheroes.com).
"After the Academy Awards when The Lord of the
Rings won 11 Oscars, traffic on our site doubled in
the space of a few hours," said Leslie Raymond,
Director of Internet Services. "Before NetSuite,
this would have made us crash – immediately. Whatever
NetSuite is doing about load balancing is clearly very
effective. The complaints we used to have about the
usability of the Web site have dropped dramatically
since we started using NetSuite."
Oriel Wines (www.orielwines.com),
a New York-based producer of wines with locations around
the globe, sells both to businesses and consumers. "We
are projecting sales in the tens of millions of dollars
within the next few years," said John Hunt, CEO.
"Some will be direct online sales to consumers,
some will be through the wholesale trade to retail stores
and restaurants. All will be managed – indeed,
made possible – through NetSuite."
Gproxy, Inc. is a Miami, Fla.-based producer of MobiDepot
(www.mobidepot.com),
a retailer of consumer electronics with additional offices
in Montevideo, Uruguay. "The ability to integrate
our NetSuite ecommerce operations into UPS has saved
us considerable time and money," said Mario Colla,
CEO. "With NetSuite's customisation features I
was able to tailor the system to best reflect the industry
needs of my online customers. This was essential as
most of our business is done via our Web store."
