The Process

The NetSuite ERP Consultant Certification consists of two exams:

SuiteFoundation Exam

This is the first of the two certification exams. Passing this exam confirms that you have the foundational knowledge necessary to be a successful candidate for becoming a NetSuite ERP Certified Consultant. No credential awarded for Foundation Exam

Fee: $250

Description of a Qualified Candidate:

The candidate can work with the NetSuite product and has a basic understanding of the following concepts and features covered in the NetSuite Essentials course:

  • Features and standard modules (i.e., CRM, ERP)
  • Company and user preferences
  • Relationship of users, roles and permissions
  • Customization options of the user interface
  • Dashboards, reports, and searches
  • Standard record types and how they are structured

Recommended Requisites:

  • Skill Level: Three months' experience administering the NetSuite application or equivalent knowledge
  • Recommended Course: NetSuite Essentials

What is Covered by the Test:

  • Features and standard modules (i.e., CRM, ERP)
  • Company and user preferences
  • Relationship of users, roles and permissions
  • Customization options of the user interface
  • Dashboards, reports, and searches
  • Standard record types and how they are structured

NetSuite ERP Consultant Exam

This is the second exam required for certification. Passing this exam certifies that you have the knowledge and skills necessary to be a Certified NetSuite ERP Consultant.

Fee: $250

The candidate has the equivalent experience of performing 5–10 medium scale, or 2–3 enterprise NetSuite ERP implementations, which is roughly equivalent to at least 2 years' worth of NetSuite implementations in a consultant-related role. They are able to match NetSuite ERP solutions to business requirements. This person can advise on how to change standard ERP workflows, when to use scripting tools to meet the business needs, and when to extend use through integrations. This consultant can explain the implications and benefits of NetSuite configuration options.

What Certification will be available this year?

You will be able to pass the NetSuite SuiteFoundation exam as well as become certified as a NetSuite ERP Consultant beginning in October 2013.

What terms apply to me if I participate in NetSuite's exam and certification program?

You must review and agree to all terms in NetSuite's Certification Policy and other policies provided or made available to you by NetSuite.

Why "ERP" Consultant? What about CRM, Ecommerce, or other specializations?

Most customers rely on NetSuite ERP to run their business. Because of this, customers are demanding experienced NetSuite ERP consultants. We are offering the ERP Consultant Certification to meet this demand. Certifications and specializations in other areas of NetSuite will be available in the future.

Where can I take the certification Exam? Do I have to go to a testing center?

You sign up with the third party vendor Kryterion, who administers and proctors the computerized exams. There will be 2 ways to take the exams:

When can I sign up for the test? I want to be certified!

We are launching the SuiteFoundations and ERP Consultant exams on October 15, 2013. You can register for an exam using this link: www.webassessor.com/netsuite

Will there be required training before I can take the certification exams?

Recommended training is identified in the exam descriptions and study guides found on the certification webpage. Contact training@netsuite.com for help in developing a learning plan tailored to your needs and requirements for certification.

If I take the training, will I be guaranteed to pass the exams?

Completing NetSuite training does not guarantee that you will pass the exams; however, formal training will help you prepare for the exam and ensure that you have core NetSuite knowledge.

How will I be able to promote my Certification status?

If you pass the exam and your status is current, you can use the NetSuite Certification logo and other designations under the terms NetSuite provides. You as an individual (not your employer or organization) have the option to place a NetSuite Certification logo on your business cards, email signatures, resume and individual social media profile. Check back here for information about future social media group(s) for people who have passed NetSuite exams.

How will someone be able to verify my Certification Status?

Upon request, NetSuite will confirm whether an individual has passed a particular exam or whether his/her status is current. To verify this information, please contact certification@netsuite.com.

Will I get a logo to put on my company or organization website?

No, the certification is for individuals, not companies or organizations. Your employer or organization may state it has "X" number of individuals with a certification under the terms of the Certification Policy.

How much does an exam cost?

$250 for each exam, $500 to take both the SuiteFoundation and ERP Consultant exam which are needed to qualify for the Certified ERP Consultant designation. If you fail to pass an exam, you will be offered a discounted fee to retake it after 60 days.

What form will the questions take?

The questions will all be multiple-choice, or matching.

Will I have access to a demo account while I am taking the test? (So I can look up SuiteAnswers?)

The computer screens are locked during the exam, so there is no access to any materials or online sources for information. Scratch paper and calculators are not allowed.

How can I get access to the Partner Implementation Training for the ERP Consultant Exam? I don't see it on the SuiteTraining webpage.

We will provide access to this material to you once you have registered for the ERP Consultant Exam.

Can you provide special accommodation for the exam?

If you need a special accommodation in testing, please contact certification@netsuite.com 60 days in advance of your desired testing date.

Will I know right away if I passed or failed?

Yes, test results will be available immediately.

Once I pass the exam, how long to confirm my certification?

Allow approximately two weeks to receive confirmation of certification and related benefits.

If I fail, how soon can I retake the test?

A 60-day waiting period between re-tests is required.

How do I keep my Certification current?

There will be 2 exam requirements to keep your certification current:

  1. Annual Update Exam for SuiteFoundation and ERP Consultant Exams: Pass New Release quizzes to verify knowledge of the new features
  2. Refresh Re-Test for ERP Consultant Exam: Every 3 years, pass a rewritten ERP Certification Exam to reinforce your overall knowledge

What does it mean when an individual says "I have passed the SuiteFoundation exam"?

An individual may only make this statement if they have successfully passed the SuiteFoundation exam and currently satisfy all requirements of the program, including periodic re-testing and ongoing compliance requirements. Passing this exam confirms that the individual has the foundational knowledge necessary to be a successful candidate for becoming a NetSuite ERP Certified Consultant.
