Netledger Names Andrew Daniels
Director Of Security
NetLedger Achieves High Security and Privacy Standards
by Leveraging Andrew Daniels' Expertise in Deploying
and Enforcing Internet and Technology Security Policies
San Mateo, CA. - May 31, 2000 NetLedger, Inc.,
the breakthrough application service provider (ASP)
that allows millions to run their small businesses totally
online, announced today announced the appointment of
Andrew Daniels as Director of Security, overseeing all
network, system, detection and physical security for
the company.
Daniels began at NetLedger as manager of operations
in October 1999. In that role, he was responsible for
all UNIX system operations, and the set-up and management
of NetLedger application hardware. To manage the company's
rapid customer growth, Daniels became one of the key
drivers in the launch of NetLedger's groundbreaking,
consolidated data center, one of the world's largest
deployment of Oracle on Linux.
Daniels joined NetLedger from Taos Mountain Inc., a
Unix/NT consulting firm, where he was senior system
& network administrator. There he played a key role
in the network and system design, development, implementation
and support of several highly visible Fortune 500 companies
including Levi Strauss & Company, Logitech, Eckerd
Pharmacy, E-Offering, and Walgreens Co.
Before Taos Mountain, Daniels was a senior technical
specialist with Kemper National Insurance Company, where
he spearheaded the design of a 10,000-user base UNIX/NT
network. He also led the technical team working on projects
including, troubleshooting the interface, and identifying
and rectifying security problems.
Daniels began his career as computer support specialist
at Indiana University where he received credits for
taking formal educational classes on Network Forensics
and Intrusion Detection, as well as Security Administration
and Deployment. He is a member of the North American
Network Operations Group (NANOG), System Administration,
Network and Security, Advanced Computing Systems Association,
and System Administrators Guild (SAGE). Daniels is also
a published author for Windows® 2000 DNS by New
Riders Publishing.
