NetLedger Partners with
Elibrium to Distribute "Boxed" NetLedger Accounting
Pro in Retail Channel
Dominant Player in Category Takes Novel Approach to
Market its Internet-based Application
San Mateo, CA. April 30, 2001 NetLedger,
Inc., the leader in Web-based solutions that streamline
small businesses and help them succeed, today announced
that it has formed a strategic alliance with Elibrium,
a division of ClickAction Inc. (Nasdaq: CLAC), a provider
of productivity software and services to simplify home
and business life. Effective immediately, NetLedger's
online accounting service is available in a box at retail
stores such as Staples, Office Depot, and other office
and computer supply stores.
NetLedger's Web-based accounting product is boxed
and marked as NetLedger Accounting Pro. Included
in the box are a product manual, a getting-started guide
and a CD. The CD will give users useful information
about the benefits of the NetLedger Accounting Pro,
an overview of what the product does and a signup process.
The offerings in the box include 4 months accounting
and payroll service plus 5 employee access accounts.
The suggested promotional retail price is $59.95, which
represents over a 50% of savings vs. the cost of these
items purchased separately online. In addition, there
is a $10 rebate for users who switch from QuickBooks®,
Peachtree Accounting®, One-Write Plus® or Microsoft
Money.
This partnership results in a unique approach to market
the ASP offerings to small businesses through retail
channels. Complementary to its Internet-based approach,
this unique move helps NetLedger communicate the benefits
of its online services to small businesses in a more
direct way, educating them on the leading-edge business
management application that can change the way they
do business. Using NetLedger, small businesses can save
time and money; access up-to-the-minute information
to make better business decisions; and strengthen and
extend business relationships using the Internet.
"NetLedger is taking another novel approach to expand
distribution channels," said Evan Goldberg, president
and CEO of NetLedger, Inc. "It is a wild card to play,
but I believe this approach has great potential because
traditionally more than 90% of small business software
is sold through giant retail store chains. With Elibrium's
expertise in this arena and its aggressive ASP initiative,
NetLedger's services will reach out to millions of small
business end-users."
Christina Willett, senior vice president and general
manager of Elibrium said, "Our ASP initiative serves
to market the most innovative applications through our
well-established retail chains so that small business
customers can easily access online products. We chose
NetLedger because it provides the best online accounting
application."
Users can run NetLedger on all major browsers and
operating systems, with anytime, anywhere access.
