BUSINESS SUITES TO UNITED KINGDOM
First and only midmarket UK CRM
product with commission management and order management
including automatic VAT calculation
New on-demand applications eliminate
cost and complexity, while giving SMEs more powerful
business applications than most large enterprises
LONDON, 9 Oct., 2003 – NetSuite Inc. (formerly NetLedger, Inc.) today announced the UK availability of its award-winning business applications, Oracle Small Business Suite and its mid-market counterpart NetSuite. Chief among many UK "first and only" features is the bringing together of applications that automate front-office, back-office and e-commerce in a single application. NetSuite and Oracle Small Business Suite have been completely localised for the UK market, from language convertions, advanced sales order management with VAT, to statutory accounting requirements, to reporting. Todaythe company is the world's leading provider of online business application suites. The Oracle Small Business Suite name is used under license from Oracle Corporation. (ORCL). For a free test-drive of the product, please go to www.netsuite.com/uktestdrive.
Today's online and traditional mid-market CRM applications
automate only the most elementary sales activities –
tracking leads, phone calls, opportunities, and forecasts.
However, the most important aspects of a customer relationship
with a company – what was purchased, how it was
shipped, and what terms were extended – are all
managed in a “back-office” ERP system rather
than in a CRM application.
NetSuite eliminates these limitations, because it is
a single system that integrates complete mid-market
CRM and ERP functionality in one application. Accordingly,
NetSuite CRM users have seamless access to advanced
functionality not found in any other mid-market CRM
application. NetSuite is the first mid-market software
application – either online or self-managed —
to provide order management, including VAT and shipping
integration. Additionally, its ability to integrate
inventory data allows sales people to provide exact
information on product availability. NetSuite also enables
better and less expensive customer service, as support
personnel have a real-time picture of customer purchase
histories and details.
While companies may choose to deploy all of NetSuite's
functionality, the CRM capabilities described above
can be used without replacing an existing accounting
system. Furthermore, with NetSuite's advanced eCRM features,
these capabilities can be delivered as a customer self-service
application at no additional charge. With a user name
and password, customers can use the Internet to access
their own account information, check order status, see
inventory availability, and place orders which incorporate
their specific terms (discount levels, payment terms,
etc.).
"Amazingly, today's CRM systems don't natively
track the most basic element of the vendor-customer
relationship – what the customer actually bought!"
said Zach Nelson, CEO of NetSuite. "The ability
of NetSuite to manage the customer relationship from
contact to contract to cash changes the CRM application
landscape."
Oracle Small Business Suite and NetSuite deliver many
"first and only" capabilities and online services
to the UK including:
- Complete integration of front-office, back-office
and e-commerce operations in a single application
database
- A mid-market UK CRM application with order management,
including automatic VAT calculation
- Multi-currency price lists
- A mid-market UK CRM product with commission management
- An online business application with UK-specific
VAT and financial reporting compliance
- A mid-market business application with built-in
"dashboard" user interface based on user
roles. These patent-pending dashboards allow different
system users to see key performance indicators pertinent
to their company role instantly. For example, a salesperson's
dashboard automatically surfaces open leads, deals
closed and pipeline; a warehouse manager's dashboard
shows orders pending fulfillment and inventory levels;
a bookkeeper's dashboard updates accounts receivable
and invoices to send; and the CEO's dashboard brings
business activity monitoring front and center by allowing
a complete, real-time view of every key metric the
company monitors.
Oracle Small Business Suite and NetSuite also include
the most advanced customisation capabilities of any
application service. These capabilities include a set
of integrated, custom record creation and management
tools. These tools make NetSuite completely extensible
to the specific needs of each business, allowing the
business to define its own custom data records with
complex relationships between each other and existing
records/transactions. Custom code can be added via industry
standard JavaScript® to define specific validation
and calculation behavior for custom fields. Additionally,
NetSuite provides real-time, system-to-system XML data
exchange capabilities allowing integration with other
Web-based or legacy vertical applications.
NetSuite, founded in 1998 by Oracle CEO and chairman
Larry Ellison and his leading technology guru and current
NetSuite CTO, Evan Goldberg, brings the power of integrated
application suites and low-cost utility computing to
small and medium enterprises (SMEs). While many large
enterprises use integrated application suites, they
are far too expensive and complex for the 1.2 million
UK SMEs (Source: IDC, 2002). As a result, these companies
buy separate, expensive software packages to manage
their business – one for financials, one for order
fulfillment, one for sales force automation, one for
customer support. Then they spend an even greater amount
of money on the hardware to run the software, and on
the resources to install, maintain, and integrate the
data from these incompatible systems.
Oracle Small Business Suite and NetSuite eliminate
this cost and complexity, while giving SMEs a more powerful
system in many ways than what most large enterprises
use. They enable companies to manage all key business
operations in a single application that includes complete
customer relationship management; employee productivity;
accounting; warehousing and product assembly; Web store
and Web presence; and time and billing. In addition,
NetSuite is delivered as an online service, so there
is no hardware to procure, no large up-front license
fee, and no software to maintain, update and upgrade.
And finally, the products' easy-to-use “dashboard”
user interface provides an intelligent, role-specific
portal view of the application.
