Nikkei Sangyo Newspaper 2006/3/8 NetSuite to Launch Web 2.0-Type Japanese Language Product by June
US software vendor NetSuite (California) on March 8 announced plans to start doing business in Japan. It will establish a Japanese subsidiary and start offering a Japanese language version of its Web 2.0-type product by June. Web 2.0 is the name coined for the new wave in Internet technology. NetSuite uses an ASP (Application Service Provider) model to sell subscriptions to online software services. It will be targeting small businesses with under 500 employees.
The NetSuite product to be sold in Japan is an integrated ERP suite that provides a wide range of functions including accounting, personnel, and customer, sales and inventory management. With full support for AJAX, a core Web 2.0 technology, NetSuite boasts almost the same usability as ordinary software, with data display interface changes and so forth able to be carried out instantly.
NetSuite will be marketing the product to e-commerce businesses and others. It will have accounting and personnel functions ready by mid-2007. License fees are likely to come to about ¥10,000 per user per month.
