    INSIGHT FROM THE CEO

I know the price of success: dedication, hard work, and an unremitting devotion to the things you want to see happen. Actually, Frank Lloyd Wright said that, but it holds as true for our business as it no doubt did for Wright's architectural pursuits. We define our success through your success and have been rewarded by your positive response to our recent programs to make your use of NetSuite even more productive.

There are dozens of self-paced courses available on the Web — all free, of course — that can increase your prowess in using NetSuite to full advantage. And this spring we've added a series of web seminars just for our customers on areas like use of dashboards, web store customization, customer surveys, and many other productivity measures. Registration is on the log-in page — and keep an eye out for the new web seminars coming up. And if you miss the live event, you can listen to the recorded session at any time.

And have you seen the new Help Center? Everything has been indexed to make it easier to locate what you want with Google search. Our goal is to make NetSuite not only address your business needs, but do so as easily and intuitively as possible. Our development team has been busy over the winter — and we are sure you will be pleased with their efforts in the usability enhancements coming in NetSuite 2007. Our dedication and hard work will pay off in your ongoing success!

    Sincerely,

    Zach Nelson

SuiteSource is Your Library of Free Extensions
Have you tried using our SuiteSource library? It is your open source resource for extending and customizing NetSuite solutions. It contains over 70 samples of SuiteScripts, SuiteTalk Integrations and Suitelets for customizing your business processes and extending NetSuite solutions. The SuiteSource collaborative open source directory http://shopping.netsuite.com/suitesource lets you share SuiteFlex customizations, integrations, and applications with other members of the NetSuite community.

Customize Your Business Processes with SuiteFlex
Because no two businesses are alike and industries require specific functions and processes, NetSuite's SuiteFlex provides you with a great development platform for customizing and extending your core NetSuite business processes, and creating entirely new business processes and applications to meet your company and industry requirements.

NetSuite's SuiteFlex extends SuiteScript with two key toolsets to complement and extend NetSuite core business process management — SuiteScript Portlets and Suitelets:

    • Portlets are scripted Dashboard areas that allow you to include external data-feeds via RSS, HTML or Flash
    • Suitelets are SuiteScript user interface objects used to build custom interfaces that run invisibly within the NetSuite framework. For example, a suitelet written for project managers allows them to easily locate their personnel resources based on skills and see their availability to work on the project in a graphical window. (This suitelet and others are available free of charge at SuiteSource. )

    TIPS AND TRICKS

Evan's Tip for Restricting Your View of Your Records for Easy Reading
Did you know you can temporarily restrict your view of records related to a certain class, location or department? For example, let's say you wanted to view only records for your UK office and didn't want to see the clutter of your other locations. You would simply go to Home > Set Preferences > Restrict View and set your location to UK. For that session you would only see records tagged with the UK location. This includes data in reports, search, and lists. When you login at a later time, your view will return to normal.

    See Home > Set Preferences

    Restrict View

    1. Click the Restrict View subtab to limit this login session to information for a certain class, location or department of your company. The next time you log in, you will view all records.
    2. Click Save.

    Zach's Tip on Publishing Dashboards

Publish information on your dashboard to others
Did you know that you can customize dashboards and share them with your employees? Publishing dashboards allows you to make sure that everyone with the same NetSuite role views the same information. This also saves time by allowing one person to set up every team member's dashboard. When you publish dashboards in NetSuite, you can choose to allow or restrict employees from making changes to their dashboards. You must have one of the following roles to publish dashboards:

    • Administrator
    • Sales Administrator
    • Marketing Administrator
    • Support Administrator
    • System Administrator

The role you use to customize your published dashboard determines for which roles you can assign the dashboards. For example, sales administrators can publish dashboards to sales administrators, sales manager and sales reps.

    To publish a dashboard:
First, customize the pages in your account to appear as your employees should view them. This includes adding, customizing, and arranging portlets on each tab in your account. You can customize which information appears on a tab by clicking "Customize this Page" on each tab.

    1. When your dashboard is set up, go to Home > Settings > Publish Dashboard.
    2. On the Publish Dashboard page, enter a name for this dashboard.
    3. In the Notes field, enter a description for this dashboard.
    4. On the Apply to Roles subtab, choose one or more roles you want to assign this dashboard to.
    5. Check the Override Existing User's Settings box only if you want to replace your employees' current dashboards with this saved dashboard.
    6. Click Add.
    7. Click the Apply to Tabs subtab.
    8. On the Apply to Tabs subtab, check the box in the Apply column next to each tab you want this dashboard applied to.
    9. For each tab you check, your employees' dashboards will be updated to include the same information you have set up.
    10. In the Mode column, choose one of the following for each tab:
      • Unlocked: this lets employees change all aspects of their dashboards
      • Locked: this restricts employees from making any changes to their dashboards
      • Add/Move Content: this allows employees to add new content to their dashboards and also to move the portlets you have created. Employees cannot remove content.

Note: Once you have applied a dashboard to a role, you can no longer change the tabs that a dashboard is applied to.
    11. Click Save.
Your saved dashboard is now assigned to the roles you chose!

HOW CUSTOMERS ARE ACHIEVING GREAT RESULTS FROM NETSUITE

    ESET
Computer anti-virus developer ESET implemented NetSuite in its San Diego headquarters to keep up with rapid growth and deliver prompt and effective service to its customers. Using NetSuite's support case management system, ESET Customer Care specialists can quickly categorize and analyze product inquiries, order problems and potential bug issues, packaging them into actionable reports for the company's R&D parent in Slovakia. With real-time analysis, ESET has even been able to identify how marketing and Web store language can affect customer inquiry reports and make quick changes to the NetSuite-hosted ecommerce front end.

By using NetSuite for all customer activities, ESET no longer has to manually re-key customers from a sales database into marketing and service records. "Once somebody makes a purchase, we automatically get that customer information in NetSuite," Business Systems Manager John Tannone, says. Partners, which account for 50% of ESET's revenue, also manage their licenses and purchases through NetSuite's customer center, giving ESET a clear view of all of its valuable partners' activities. "Online marketing forms allow us to have lead-capture or lead-entry forms on our website (using i-frames) with those leads instantly placed in NetSuite for Sales staff to act upon."

"Since April 2006, we have had a 300% growth in dollar volume on the e-store and a nearly fourfold increase in the quantity of orders. That just would not have scaled on the old system(s)."

    — John Tannone

    Auto Wireless Solutions
Auto Wireless Solutions provides Bluetooth-enabled cellular phones and their activation for luxury cars such as Rolls Royce, Bentley, Mercedes-Benz, Aston Martin, Jaguar, BMW, and Land Rover. The company works with the nation's largest wireless carriers like Verizon, Cingular, and T-Mobile. NetSuite has given Auto Wireless Solutions tight control over customer service in an industry niche where exemplary service is demanded.

Richard Eklund, founding partner, says Auto Wireless Solutions knows NetSuite has enabled them to avoid hiring a large IT staff to manage disparate software programs in-house. "It's a cost savings from a pure headcount perspective that has also improved quality because we provide better service to our customers with NetSuite," Eklund says. "In some ways it's the only way to operate a company. You have to be efficient. You have to use the best technologies available that make sense from a cost and quality perspective."

"For every facet of our business, NetSuite had an answer and it was integrated into the system."

    Hyperia Limited
Hyperia — part of the French CIS Group — is responsible for West Africa's biggest Internet project to date, providing television, Internet and telephony services in one. Naturally, its key challenge was its dispersed operations, making an integrated, Web-enabled system of paramount importance.

It was also vital for Hyperia's partner companies, who are responsible for following up on sales leads, to be able to access vital, up-to-date customer data from anywhere in the world, at any time.

"Initially we used Salesforce.com for customer relationship management, and a separate accounting package, but running two separate systems and managing two sets of data was a real problem," confirms Managing Director Sandeep Jayaswal. "CIS Group wanted us to switch to a large ERP system, which is what they use. But that system is not a hosted Internet solution — which is what we needed — plus it was too expensive for us. Every other solution we looked at fell short in one way or another — too expensive, too wieldy, or not sufficiently integrated."

"From here in the UK I can see at a glance what is in transit and what is in stock in various positions around the world. That's vitally important to our business. In the past, inventory data was always out of date — now it's 100 percent correct, 100 percent of the time."

    Recent Awards

CPA Technology Advisor — NetSuite — NetSuite Small Business — 5-Star Rating
NetSuite Small Business received a perfect 5-star rating in a recent detailed product review conducted by The CPA Technology Advisor, beating MYOB US, Microsoft Office Accounting Professional, and several other small business accounting applications. NetSuite Receives the Real Time CRM Award
The Top 15 CRM awards, which premiered in 1990, serve as the standard for comprehensive CRM software. The Real Time CRM Awards were introduced last year in response to the dramatic impact real-time CRM applications have on the way customer-facing personnel work.

And Did You Know: There are great shortcuts in global search?
You can use the shortcuts in global search to:

    • Limit results to a record type by prefixing the search string with record type abbreviation and a colon (for example, a case — "ca:")
    • Edit the resulting record instead of viewing it if there is only one match by capitalizing the prefix (Ca:)
    • Open that record to edit in a new browser window by using two colons after the prefix. For example, "Ca::12345" will open a new browser window to edit case #12345.
