Job Description:

NetSuite hires only the most talented developers. We believe that a small team of star developers will deliver better code and a better product than a team of average developers 2-3 times the size. Better code means a higher quantity of features and better quality of modules.

Teamwork is important to our success at NetSuite. We believe that all developers must have a personal commitment to the success of the product, and have excellent communication skills. We ask our developers to work in small teams with product management and quality assurance on a daily basis in order to design the product and prioritize bugs.

We believe that developers excel when they take responsibility for their own work by understanding our business and being able to think on their feet. While high-level priorities and objectives are set by management based on business need, developers must regularly make decisions and prioritize their own work to meet those objectives.

NetSuite is looking for a developer to work on a team tasked with extending functionality both through integrations with key partners and by developing infrastructure to support web application interconnectivity more generally. You will work closely with other development teams, product management and partners to define and implement solutions that seamlessly integrate external services as core NetSuite functionality in areas like payment processing, shipping, exchange rates, bill payment, campaigns, web-site checkout and many others. On the technical side, your work will take you from the design and creation of database models to user interface implementation to the use and development of bi-directional web services. You will use existing methods and best practices and develop new techniques as appropriate to create features and platforms with the highest levels of security, reliability, efficiency, and scalability.

You must have an intimate, working understanding of modern web applications from database to browser and familiarity with inter-web-app communication methods. You must be an excellent communicator in both technical and non-technical contexts. You will be required to internalize technical and business requirements rapidly and must be prepared to make decisions under pressure. You must have a record of working to deadlines in a rapid development cycle and prioritizing competing demands. Pride in your work and a desire to delight the customer should motivate you to take initiative, take responsibility and take ownership of your projects.

Qualifications/Skills:

• B.S. in computer engineering or equivalent
• 5 years software development experience
• 5 years experience with Java or C++
• Strong SQL database experience
• Understanding of HTTP, Internet protocols, Web browsers
• Superior communication skills

Recommended:

• Some accounting or small business experience
• Enterprise business application development experience
• Experience deploying and using web services
