In the United Kingdom and North America, Sage has more than 30 different product lines that have been acquired over the past 15+ years. Despite owning these products for many years, Sage has never solved the problem of cross-departmental information flow and its products only integrate weakly, if at all. While Sage touts the ease of upgrading from one product to another — say from Line 50 to Line 100 — these products were developed by different companies and are strikingly different — from the user interface to the data model to the system management requirements.
