Curriculum Developers play a critical role in achieving this objective by creating high-quality training materials that help our customers build knowledge, increase user adoption and apply best practices.

Job Description:
The Senior Technical Curriculum Developer is responsible for developing and delivering technical training courses that teach developers how to customize NetSuite with JavaScript and integrate NetSuite with other applications via web service operations using Java or C#. The Senior Technical Curriculum Developer has a strategic role in integrating new product releases and instructor feedback into existing courseware and designing, developing and delivering new courses to meet the needs of NetSuite customers, partners and employees. Developed curriculum will support instructor-led classroom training, instructor-led virtual training and self-paced e-learning.

The ideal candidate possesses a passion for training and has equally strong instructional design and training delivery skills. The ideal candidate also possesses solid software development and programming experience, having worked with JavaScript, Web Services (SOAP-based and RESTful), Java, C#, PHP, and SQL. Familiarity with JavaScript libraries such as jQuery, Backbone, Underscore, and Bootstrap, along with server-side JavaScript such as Node.js is a plus. Finally, the successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, demonstrated attention to detail, deep concern for customer satisfaction, and strong project management skills.


  • Design, develop, and maintain technical course materials for all audiences including customer, partner and employee.
  • Create training documentation including instructor presentations, instructor and student guides, quick reference materials, and hands-on exercises.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop course specifications and gather course content.
  • Team with subject matter experts to gather requirements and incorporate expertise into curriculums and learning objectives.
  • Become a subject matter expert in the underlying technologies identified in learning objectives
  • Ensure the training curriculum addresses the requirements of all NetSuite audiences and NetSuite corporate initiatives.
  • Deliver knowledge transfers of updated and new courses to instructors.
  • Deliver live instructor-led training sessions (at NetSuite training facilities, onsite at customer locations, and virtual online sessions) and webinars.
  • Deliver training up to 50% of the time.


  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
  • 5–7 years' experience in instructional design and development.
  • 5–7 years' experience in delivering technical software training
  • Experience writing code or developing software programs
  • Experience with software development, including object oriented languages such as Java and C#.
  • Experience with web development, including client and server-side JavaScript
  • Proficiency in error resolution and debugging
  • Proficiency with the application integration layer and customization environment of at least one major ERP or CRM application:
    • Oracle—Open Interface Tables, PL/SQL
    • Siebel—escript
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, Cisco WebEx, Adobe Captivate and other instructional design applications.
  • Solid experience with developing course materials, learning objectives, training aids, and hands-on exercises.
  • Strong presentation, training and group facilitation skills; familiar and competent with audience-engagement methods and techniques appropriate for all types of audiences.
  • Proven experience with curriculum design principles and practices including: structured writing techniques, interactive training, synchronous and asynchronous design principles, and evaluation methods.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate ideas and information effectively, clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to analyze complex training requirements and present effective educational solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple, on-going projects.
  • Ability to establish excellent relationships with the extended training team as well as with product management, development, support and other organizations.
