Summary:
NetSuite is looking for a senior developer that will be part of our growing Performance team. The main task of the team is to try to concentrate on all aspects of the performance of the NetSuite system, both on the application and database layers. As part of this work the team develops performance monitoring tools helping it to identify problematic areas. The performance team then works closely with other development teams, product management and QA to improve the performance to ensure that the product continues to deliver high quality service to its customers.

The developer will concentrate on performance improvements of the Oracle database, so very good understanding of database technology in general and Oracle databases in particular is necessary. For illustration, the kind of problems that might be encountered in this role are locating inefficiencies in the database design and helping to make it more efficient, identifying slow SQL commands and improving their performance by adding/optimizing the use of indexes, adding hints as necessary, restructuring the application code to make the use of SQL more efficient etc.

The developer will closely collaborate with other members of the team, both in Brno and in the US offices, as well as the other developer teams in NetSuite, so excellent communication skills and good knowledge of English are also necessary. Knowledge of object oriented programming (primarily Java) is welcome but not required.

Requirements:

• B.S. in computer engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years software development experience
• 3 years SQL database experience
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Czech

Recommended:

• Experience with Java or other object-oriented language
• Agile SCRUM experience
