This position is for a Sr. Systems Administrator in the Administrator Group of the Retail Anywhere Operations department. The employee will focus mainly on providing support to our 24x7 departments.

This is a unique and challenging opportunity; your contribution will be crucial to the success of emerging applications in cloud computing.


  • Expert understanding (8+ years) of operating system concepts (Windows and Linux), services, and security requirements for an on-line service running in Amazon Web Services.
  • Advanced understanding of Microsoft SQL server 2008 with an ability to understand/run SQL queries and verify/modify Maintenance plans.
  • Must be able to work effectively under occasional high stress 24x7 on call conditions.
  • Superior scripting skills, preferably in sh/csh/perl/powershell with Windows servers and Amazon Web Services. Script design experience in non-Active Directory environment required.
  • Solid understanding of storage concepts and requirements e.g. NFS, Samba, SAN, disk io bottlenecks.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Windows AD, DNS, HTTP/S, SSH, LDAP, PXE, DHCP, TFTP, WSUS.
  • Experience with management of large server farms and associated issues such as automation, configuration management, backups, monitoring, capacity planning, deployment, inventory, hardware troubleshooting, system troubleshooting, security baselines, etc.
  • Experience with open source tools such as Puppet, Nagios, Perl, Munin, Zabbix, Gluster, Apache is required. Architecture of centralized event correlation and alerting required.
  • Excellent understanding of TCP/IP, firewall, networking protocols and security concepts.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering is preferred.
